Greg Thompson
Chief Executive

Greg has more than 25 years of experience in hands-on and leadership positions across the energy sector, both nationally and internationally. His background as a mechanical engineer, senior manager and geothermal plant manager provides a solid foundation to lead MB Century. Greg previously worked for the parent company Tuaropaki Trust for two years as Energy Operations Manager.  

Greg immigrated from South Africa in 2007 with his wife and two sons. He enjoys playing tennis and flicking a fly in the trout-filled streams around Taupo.    

Ronita Nath
Company Accountant

Ronita has over 10 years of industry experience in Accounting.  She has five years of Accounting experience from working in a Chartered Accountant firm and three years from working in an Inbound Travel Management company.  In 2019 Ronita transitioned from practice to industry to build and gain in-depth knowledge to focus on the bottom line and reduce inefficiencies.

Ronita moved to Taupo from Fiji in 2011, accompanied by her husband and fur baby Neo. She enjoys biking, hiking, and listening to music in her own private backyard bar called ‘Bula Bar’.

Alan Stewart
Business Services Manager

Alan has worked across a variety of industries from Energy, Facilities/Asset Maintenance, Business Services, and Financial Services. Alan’s early career was recruitment focused, with a significant portion working in London for investment banks where he managed global recruitment functions, and over the last 10 years, Alan has worked in business management roles. He joined MB Century in early 2019 and provides support across our people, risk, quality, information technology, finance and business administrator teams.

Alan relocated back to NZ in late 2016 with his English wife and 2 young kids, which has been a great move and now calls Taupo home. When he can he likes to mountain bike and can be seen quite regularly at the Mole & Chicken.

 

Justin Lloyd
Operations & Safety Manager

Justin has been working in the Operations and Maintenance sector for more than 25 years, including over 10 years of service with the Royal New Zealand Navy. His diverse training and experiences allow him a wide range of skills to lead teams and manage most mechanical systems.

Prior to MB Century, Justin spent 10 years at Mercury in various roles, most recently as Plant Manager at Mokai Geothermal Power Station. Justin joined MB Century in mid-2022 to lead the Operations and Safety team as they provide a full range of services to MB Century’s clients. 

Geothermal operations is a passion for Justin and building team expertise and talent is key so MB Century can support clients as a partner of choice. Away from the office, Justin enjoys heading away in the caravan with his family exploring NZ’s hidden gems.

 

Ben Rasdall
Professional Services Manager

Ben has worked in a variety of disciplines within energy-related industries. A large portion of his career has been spent in the offshore marine industry working on power generation and environmental solutions, where he gained a wealth of experience in business development internationally.

Ben has been with MB Century since 2018 and joined the Senior Management Team in 2020 delivering and building the capabilities of the engineering, design, drafting, project management, and tendering functions. Within MB Century’s revenue streams, he leads the Hydro sector and is always on the lookout for new opportunities and building partnerships with OEMs.

Since moving from Brighton (UK) in 2018 he has explored much of New Zealand and competed in various trail running and multisport races including the one-day Coast to Coast race. Ben now spends his time nurturing adventure in his young daughter.

Greg Larsen
Upstream Services Manager

Greg has over 30 years of global operational management experience across a range of engineering sectors including specialising in process engineering, chemical applications, civil projects, and geothermal development.  He has provided large scale engineering support, undertaken technology development, and led successful business units within the Asia Pacific region. 

Greg returned from Singapore in 2012 and joined MB Century leading the acquisition and subsequent drilling operations for Rig32.  In 2018 Greg joined the Senior Management Team and is responsible for Rig 32, Reservoir Engineering and Chemistry teams. Outside of work, Greg enjoys local mountain biking and fishing.

Robert Mandjes
International Ventures & Business Development Manager

Robert has more than 25 years of experience in the International Energy Sector, during his career he has held several operational and commercial positions at a senior level. With a strong (petroleum) engineering background Robert is both hands-on and pragmatic which drives him to be client focussed and solution driven.

In previous roles Robert worked for Schlumberger which has allowed him to live abroad and work with people from all around world and cultures. Robert’s role as International Ventures Business Development Manager at MB Century will be initially focussed on our emerging businesses in Indonesia and the Philippines, expanding to other International markets as part of MB Century’s wider growth goals.

Originally from the Netherlands, Robert moved with his family to Taupo in 2022 and is looking forward to settling and enjoy the New Zealand lifestyle. With his kids going into university, he hopes to find more time to play golf, walking his dog and enjoying life with his wife Corstina.
